Fitness guru Jillian Michaels is slimming down the asking price of her oceanfront Malibu home to $9.499 million.

That is down a touch from $9.75 million, when the property went on the market in April. “We just wanted to give it a freshening up,” said David Kramer of Hilton & Hyland, who together with colleague Adam Press took over the listing from another firm.

Ms. Michaels bought the modern home on Las Flores beach in 2010 for $6.625 million, according to public records. She then extensively renovated the concrete, glass and steel house, the agents said. Measuring about 3,160 square feet, the house has floor-to-ceiling windows looking out on to the ocean. Two outdoor fire pits overlook the beach. The house, which Ms. Michaels shares with her two children and fiancee Heidi Rhoades, has appeared on her E! reality show, “Just Jillian.”

Ms. Michaels, 42, presides over a fitness empire of books, DVDs and apparel and appeared for years as a coach on the TV show “The Biggest Loser.” She is selling because she now owns a ranch in Malibu, Mr. Kramer said. According to public records, Ms. Michaels bought the ranch two years ago for $3.61 million.

Ms. Michaels couldn’t be reached for comment.
